DESCRIPTION
“Family is a very complex thing that cannot be defined in one word”, says the Japanese director regarding his latest film. After all, what do you call a family of two brokers who set out to find new parents for a child who has been abandoned in the “baby box”, together with his mother, who left it there but returns the next day? Each of them has its own motivation and scars in the soul, but there is a special connection between them. The author of the film honours life and everyone who is born.

DIRECTOR
— HIROKAZU KOREEDA (1962), Japanese screenwriter, editor and director. He initially leaned towards a writing career, but after graduating from Waseda University in 1987, he became an assistant director at T.V. Man Union and began to develop as a filmmaker. His first feature "Maboroshi no hikari" (1995) won prizes from the jury of the Venice and Chicago festivals. He won the Palme d'Or for the film "Shoplifters" (2018) at the Cannes IFF.
