DESCRIPTION
First love, parenting, education, anger with neighbours, jealousy, solidarity, survival – that’s a small community in the lens. But instead of going to the suburbs of Paris or the French provinces, the filmmakers take us to a place where squirrels, ants, jays, mice, beetles and deer live. Their home is an over two hundred years old oak tree, durable, majestic, symbolizing strength and hope for future generations. It is also a natural space for many beings whose daily struggle we do not observe.
DIRECTOR
— LAURENT CHARBONNIER (1958), French producer, cinematographer and director. He is a widely known specialist in nature films and has won numerous awards at national and international film festivals. The profession of filmmaker of this specialty is the natural continuation of his early passions. He has produced over sixty animal documentaries and worked also on feature films.— MICHEL SEYDOUX (1947), a French businessman and film producer. In 1971, he founded the Camera One feature film production company. He also serves as the president and chairman of the French association football club Lille OSC. He is currently a Director of Gaumont and a Member of the Board of Directors of Pathé. He has produced or co-produced many films. "Heart of Oak" (2022), which he co-directed with Laurent Charbonnier, is his directing debut.
