DESCRIPTION
Jan, an avid angler comes regularly to fish in a charming village. There he meets Irena, the love of his life. But he’s too young, too immature, and he rejects a fragile, evolving relationship. Thirty years later, he returns to the city with fishing gear, but this is just an excuse to find Irena, whom he has been thinking about all his life. In the beautiful landscape of the Vistula and the picturesque town Barański invites you to reflect on the eternity of feelings, but also on the transience of nature.
DIRECTOR
— ANDRZEJ BARAŃSKI (1941), Polish screenwriter, playwright and director. He graduated from the directing department of PWSFTviT in Łódź. He creates documentaries and theatre performances. He wrote more than twenty dramas. He is best known as the author of feature films, lyrical, nostalgic images of the Polish province. He also wrote scripts for most of his films. In 2020 he received the special prize Platinum Lions at the 45th FPFF in Gdynia for his life’s work.FILMOGRAPHY
