Fanny is a legendary rock band that started as a self-formed garage band from sunny Sacramento, formed by two Filipino-American sisters and their friends. They are also the first all-female band to release an album in a major Warner label. Despite successful tours, five great albums, a slew of fans – including David Bowie – their impact on music is wiped out from the rock history. After fifty (!) years, the band reunites with a new rock record deal releases a new album. Fighting early barriers of race, gender and sexuality in the music industry and now ageism, the amazing women of Fanny are reaching for their rightful place among other rock ‘n’ roll hall of fame. Bobbi Jo Hart combines archival footage with contemporary band work and testimonials from genre icons.
